1. Problem

In a world growing scarier every day, I needed to find a way to protect myself. That’s how my personal CCTV project began.


2. Background

For two years, I dove into product reviews, seller explanations, and technical specs to find a CCTV setup that truly met my needs.


3. Attempt & Failure

On September 4, 2023, I ordered the ADT Caps Home Door Guard from Coupang. It sounded ideal on paper. In reality, it failed to deliver and I had to return it.


4. Problem Analysis

Too many CCTVs promise the world but falter on key functions. For me, door status detection often didn’t work, and internal storage was usually lacking.


5. What I Needed

Here's what I was looking for in a CCTV:

  • Door open/close status detection

  • Motion sensing

  • Built-in recording

  • Wi-Fi live transmission



6. Improvement Attempts

I tried several models, returning or abandoning each that didn’t meet expectations. It took persistence to find a working solution.


7. Current Result

I’m now on Day 15 of using a model that ticks most of my boxes. Long-term use will determine how reliable it really is.
